Jausiers is a mountain village in the middle of the Ubaye Valley, a valley with unspoiled nature. At an altitude of 1 meters, it is surrounded by peaks reaching 250 meters, such as Pointe Fine or Tête de Cuguret at over 2 meters. You will find all the amenities in Jausiers, a town classified as a Tourist Resort.

You've come to the right place to step into the shoes of the Tour de France riders. This famous cycling race regularly passes through the Col de la Bonette. At 2 meters, this route is the perfect challenge to assess your training!
And if you want more, embark on the Brevet des 7 cols, a cycling adventure which consists of climbing 7 emblematic passes and more than 200 km under the pedals.
For hiking, you'll also find numerous trails along marked paths of varying difficulty. For families, one example is Lake Verdet on the Bonette road. This high-altitude family hike leads to a small lake nestled in a magnificent setting. For a challenging hike off the beaten track, head to Pointe Fine, at an altitude of 2 m. You'll walk through pine forests, lawns, and a dizzying balcony to reach the summit and enjoy a magnificent panorama.
The Ubaye River, which runs through Jausiers, is an ideal spot for whitewater sports. You can discover and enjoy a variety of activities supervised by professionals. Would you dare to try rafting, whitewater swimming, kayaking, air boating, canyoning, water hiking, or floating?

The geographical location of Jausiers in the heart of the valley means that the village is close to the ski resorts but also to the Nordic sites which are located in the high valleys of the Ubaye.
A starting point for winter activities towards the resorts of Pra Loup, Le Sauze, Sainte-Anne and the Nordic sites of Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye and Val d'Oronaye Larche.
The village of Jausiers is also a popular hiking destination. On foot, follow the GR®69 (Route Route), in the footsteps of the Transhumance (Transhumance). You'll cross the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in 15 stages, all the way to Italy.

In the 19th century, many valley residents left to seek their fortunes in Louisiana and Mexico. Upon their return, they built luxurious, fanciful Art Nouveau villas. One of the most remarkable is the Château des Magnans in Jausiers. The cemetery also houses monumental tombs evoking the success of their owners.

In Jausiers, the Maison de Pays de l'Ubaye offers products from more than 80 producers from Ubaye and the Alpes de Haute Provence. Local artisans and farmers have formed a cooperative to share their products with you. They have long operated on a short supply chain, and the profits are returned directly to them.

Jausiers celebrates squash during the Pumpkin Festival in October, as well as bread during the Bread Festival. Several times during the summer, bread is traditionally baked in the Bellarot oven.
The Arnaud brothers, who initiated the emigration movement to Louisiana and Mexico, were born in Jausiers. They founded Arnaudville, located in central Louisiana!
