Exceptional visit to the Haute-Provence Observatory

Mediators from the Astronomy Center will enlighten you on the astrophysics research conducted by the CNRS at the Haute-Provence ObservatoryYou will access the dome housing the 1.93m telescope which enabled the discovery of the very first exoplanet in 1995. This discovery by Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz was recognized by the Nobel Committee, from which they received the prize in 2019.
Plus, it's the only active observatory whose facilities can be visited. Not bad, right?

Access the Astronomy Center

The Astronomy Center is in the commune of Saint-Michel l'Observatoire, but it's not in the village. It's located on the Moulin à Vent plateau. Be careful not to get confused; you should head toward the windmill on the hill. You shouldn't go to the large dome, which is the Haute-Provence Observatory, a CNRS research center.
