Description
“Les Dorats”, a hamlet in the commune of Bellafaire (on the border of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and the Hautes-Alpes), is located on the Col des Garcinets at an altitude of 1050 m.
The gîte is located in the middle of working farms but faces due south towards the meadows and Bois-Noirs.
You will find a grocery store - butcher - delicatessen (excellent!), a bakery, a tobacconist, the post office and restaurants in Turriers (4 km).
The nearby Durance Valley is known as the fruit and wine route and it well deserves it.
If you're tired of the car, the immediate surroundings offer a wide variety of walks: the Bois-noirs (the PR passes in front of the gîte), the Mélèzes ridge, etc.
Swimming is pleasant both at the lakes of Rochebrune (11 km) and at Serre-Ponçon (20 km).
A workshop is available for supervised repairs. Electric mountain bike rental is available on site.
