L'Étoile is a beautiful brasserie whose terraces unfold at the start of Boulevard Gassendi, opposite the roundabout of L'Étoile and its car parks. For nearly fifteen years, it has been a place frequented by those who like to bask in the sun or in the heated part for the more cautious.
The menu is wide, there is something for everyone: beautiful mixed salads, charcuterie platters, well-thought-out daily specials and generously garnished meats. On the dessert side, the gourmet coffee is easily swallowed. Among the chef's specialties: the homemade hamburger with baker's bread. The plate is well presented and the service fast, to advise when you are in a hurry. In the evening, this brasserie-bistro becomes a tapas bar with a tapas formula and a wide choice of wines, cocktails and beers.
Hervé, the owner, is a fan of music and rugby: it is not uncommon for you to come across a live concert by a local group or a sporting event broadcast live.
In summary, a very good value for money for a pleasant stopover in Digne-les-Bains on the road to the Alps. The plus: a large car park just opposite and the tourist office nearby.
