The world of the Paleogalerie is both avant-garde in its stonework and ancient, with fossils over 100 million years old. Part art gallery, part museum, discover the creatures hiding beneath your feet...

Description

New exhibition: DINOSAURS, new discoveries in the Sisteron region.
More than 100 million years ago, the Tethys Ocean covered Provence.
On rare emerged islets, among plants from another era, dinosaurs...
Representatives of four major families, all discovered locally, are presented during this
exposure.
Titanosaurs: peaceful giant herbivores with long necks, Ankylosaurs: true armored creatures from the Cretaceous period protected by 400 plates of bony armor; and finally the theropods: large bipedal predators including an almost complete baby dinosaur that could be one of the closest representatives of the
family of Tyrannosaurs never discovered in Europe...
Follow the ultimate path of these animals from another era collected by the ocean and the miracle of their fossilization from the terrestrial paleoenvironments where they lived, to the
marine paleoenvironments on the bottoms of which they were deposited...
The entire exhibition is illustrated by animal painter Sandrot (sandrot.com).
