Surrounded by green meadows planted with apple trees, dominated by a modest Romanesque chapel perched on its rock.
Come and discover its picturesque little streets.

Description

Situated on the edge of a beautiful road which crosses the wide Bléone valley, the village of La Javie occupies a serene site at the confluence of two rivers, the Arigeol and the Bléone.

La Javie has some picturesque old stepped streets, and some beautiful gray stone houses.

The ecomuseum.
In the 30s, in La Javie, there were 600 inhabitants, 6 grocery stores, 1 miller, 1 tinner, 1 cobbler and 5 postmen! In place of the ecomuseum, there was the presbytery in which up to 20 priests resided. The ecomuseum traces the history of the village. Next to the bakery, its modest door opens onto a surprising residence, where, for years, residents have collected, preserved and highlighted the memory of traditions and local history in the XNUMXth century.

The Sarteau pear.
La Javie claims to be “capital of La Sarteau”: it is a small candied pear very famous among confectioners and confined to a restricted territory of which La Javie is the center. The Sarteau Pear and other ancient fruit varieties fair takes place the first weekend in November

Tarton fair.
The agricultural fair for “tardons” (sheep) is held every year in September.
