Alexandra David-Neel, a woman of letters, was the first European woman to enter the Forbidden City of Lhasa, Tibet, in 1924.

Description

If Alexandra David-Neel spent 25 years of her life in Asia, if she was the first European woman to go to the forbidden city of Lhasa, her travels do not make her “just” an explorer. They nourish a work of considerable density and strength. They reveal totally innovative perspectives to Western thought at the beginning of the XNUMXth century that are still topical.
She projects us into a future that she wanted full of freedom, knowledge and wisdom, like the life she had chosen with courage and stubbornness.
Currently, the impact of this exceptional life is still visible, both in artistic circles (creation of an opera, writing of choreography, production of comic strips, documentaries, exhibitions, etc.) and philosophical, as shown by the extensive research on his texts and his explorations.
It is therefore today, through the different but inseparable aspects of the work that we conduct (house, museum, garden) to reflect the tremendous diversity and modernity of his work.
