Perched on the city's heights, the promenade museum offers exceptional panoramic views and invites visitors to an immersive experience blending nature, geological history, and art. It serves as the gateway and interpretation center for the Haute-Provence Geopark.

Description

The visit takes place along shaded paths, bordered by several remarkable spaces including a Japanese garden, a butterfly garden, a majestic natural waterfall and contemporary works of art.
The unmissable butterfly garden offers the chance to observe hundreds of species in their natural habitat throughout the seasons. It features around twenty interpretive panels that help visitors better understand the species, their environments, and their life cycles. Guided tours are offered daily in summer and four days a week in spring and autumn. Meet at 10:30 am at the garden entrance (included in the admission price).
Internationally renowned artists have drawn their inspiration from this enchanting place, such as Andy Goldsworthy, Joan Fontcuberta, Sylvie Bussières, Agathe Larpent… They have left their works there, subjects for contemplation.
The museum also presents exhibitions that highlight the geological richness, biodiversity, heritage of the territory, and immerse visitors in the exceptional landscapes of the UNESCO Global Geopark of Haute-Provence.
In the museum's exhibition halls, the last 300 million years of Earth's history unfold before your eyes…
Picnic areas are available for visitors in the park. Toilets are located at the park entrance and at the museum.

Details concerning animals : Kept on a leash in the park and must wait outside the museum with one of their owners or tied up if the animal is calm and not dangerous to the rest of the public.
