Description

Overlooking the Bléone valley (830 m.), Vieil-Aiglun and its Sainte-Madeleine church are a haven of peace and offer you one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Haute-Provence Geopark.

From this old village which has been reborn for several years, you will be able to observe the reliefs of the Dignoise Pre-Alps, from the summit of Estrop to the Valensole plateau, via the Barre des Dourbes, the Cousson and many others.
Although the site was undoubtedly occupied since the Neolithic period, the village took shape in the feudal era, with its castle and its rampart. The Sainte-Marie-Madeleine church was built on the ruins of an old religious building, above the village. Very marked by the rural exodus and abandoned, the place is today partly restored, with charm. Its church hosts many cultural events.
It is accessed by road but also by a path which, starting from avenue Jouve, will also take you to Puy, the highest point of the town, passing through the site of Saint-Jean.
