
The Chapel of the Nativity is mentioned from 1712; in 1718, its condition is considered decent; in 1768, it is mentioned under the name of Notre-Dame-des-Lumières and from the 19th century under that of Saint-Blaise.
Description
The Saint-Blaise Chapel is located in the heart of the village of Villars-Colmars. It has a rectangular plan. It consists of a nave with a flat chevet covered with a false pointed barrel vault. The walls of the chapel are made of mortared rubble. The chapel is covered with a long shingled roof. A square bell tower stands at the southwest corner of the chapel. The western wall adjoins a residential house. The entrance is via the south facade. It is slightly raised above street level and is accessed via a straight staircase. Two slightly arched bays open onto the south facade. The north facade is completely blind. At the end of the nave is a timber-framed gallery accessed via a straight staircase. The walls are covered with a white lime plaster. The slightly raised choir is accessible via two steps. The floor is wooden.
