Both a museum and an interactive park, La Maison du Mulet (The Mulet House) showcases this exceptional animal and its history in the Seyne region, which it has enriched. "Animals at Night" offers a chance to discover the nocturnal animals of our countryside in the dark.
Description
Halfway between a museum, an activity park and an educational farm, the Maison du Mulet allows you to discover mules and their place in the history of the Pays de Seyne in a fun and original way.
Mules, donkeys, and mares graze on the site, which includes a mini-farm and a playground. The built rural heritage is typical of a traditional mountain farm (bread oven, cellars, calade, etc.). You will discover the history of the mule, with a permanent exhibition that testifies to the importance of this breeding; a short film will tell you the story of local breeders, actors in the end of this epic.
You can then visit the temporary exhibition "Animals at Night." Through an original presentation, you will discover some particularities about these discreet, noisy, or surprising neighbors who lead their lives while we sleep.
Throughout the summer, immersive entertainment days take place on Thursdays in July and August (demonstrations, horse-drawn carriage rides, etc.). Outside of opening hours, visits are possible upon request.
