Until 1698, the Church of Saint Madeleine was located 100 meters below the village. In 1696, the Bishop of Sisteron authorized the construction of a new church in the middle of the village. The church was built using stones from the old building.

Description

The bell tower is located to the east of the church. Its construction was financed by a Franciscan nun from Peyruis, Mademoiselle Gastinel De la Cassine. The building was completed in 1698 and immediately opened for worship.

The ruins of the old church are still visible near the cemetery.

Restoration work on the church was carried out in 2012 for the interior, in the 1990s for the exterior, and in 2014 for the forecourt.
