Tower of the southern front of the city wall, rebuilt in the 1370s, during the reconstruction of the wall by the Community of Inhabitants in the context of the Hundred Years' War.
It is classified as a Historic Monument by the 1875 list.

Description

It owes its name to the proximity of the old Notre Dame de Pommeriis Cathedral.
This tower has retained its machicolation consoles and its six crossbows, spread over two levels, the latter having been restored after 1944 to their XNUMXth century state.
Open with three large arches superimposed on the gorge (city side), it is identical to the two other front towers which frame it.
An integral part of the defensive system developed by the people of Sisteron to protect themselves from the bands of looters who infested Provence, it resisted numerous pressures, notably from those who, seeing it as a symbol of feudalism, wanted its demolition.
