Turret of the western front of the city wall, rebuilt in the 1370s, during the reconstruction of the wall by the Community of Inhabitants in the context of the Hundred Years' War. It is classified as a Historic Monument by the 1875 list.
Description
With the same plan as the other flanking towers, including those preserved on the south front, it is smaller and houses only a single defensive level, equipped with two arrow slits. Around 1849, the defense was turned towards the citadel by creating two firing crenels (firing slits), framed in bricks. This turret is still attached to a portion of the city wall, unlike the towers on the south front, isolated by the demolition (mid-XNUMXth century) of the curtain walls that connected them.
