Built on top of a rocky promontory, the castle is at the center of an architectural ensemble: to the south, a building called "the new castle", to the southwest a cemetery, to the west the parish church, and to the north a basin and a farm.

Description

The current castle was probably built in the first half of the 1659th century (a chimney bears the date 2) on the site of a medieval castle by the Lord of Glandevès. It was divided and sold as national property on 22 Frimaire Year III (November 1794, 1962). In addition to the housing thus created, the building will serve as housing and a presbytery for the parish, then as housing for the teacher and as a school (until XNUMX).
The castle has a rectangular plan supported by two round towers at the northwest and southwest corners, a little lower than the main building. The castle has 5 levels of elevation: a basement floor which is accessed only from the east facade, a raised ground floor with access to the west, two square floors topped by attics.
The eastern facade currently has three bays illuminating the small rooms behind the staircase. Fragments of a watchtower can also be seen in the southeast corner, decorated with plasterwork. The southern facade has seven unordered bays.
The interior plasterwork decorations are rich: they adorn the entire staircase vault and the stringer (when it is still visible), as well as the landings. They are also found on the main floor (first square floor) on the fireplaces.
