A village perched above the olive groves of the Durance, this town offers superb views of the Alps and the Valensole Plateau. Its heritage is remarkable, with the Saint-Sébastien and Saint Saturnin churches listed as Historic Monuments.

Description

The Church of Saint-Sébastien / Saint-Saturnin welcomes visitors upon arrival. Listed as a Historic Monument, it dates back to the 15th century. At the highest point in the town, you'll find a charming square surrounded by restored houses and the Clock Tower. This building, like a belfry bearing a campanile, is emblematic of this region of the Luberon.
Visible from all sides, "La Roche Amère" is a huge limestone rock that detached itself from the mountain with the passage of the Largue River. From its summit, you will see the ruins of the medieval village of La Roque, the keep, and the Notre Dame de la Roque chapel.
Built in the 16th century, the clock tower, 13,5 meters high and with a base of 4 meters, has a central shaft 12 meters deep. A small internal spiral staircase provides access to the mechanism and the bell. The last mechanical mechanism was installed in 1892.
