The wine-growing capital of the department, this hilltop village is one of the most picturesque and authentic in the region, surrounded by vineyards and forests. Wine, art, and the "Winegrowers' Trail" combine to create an identity for this charming Provençal village.

Description

Jean Giono described Pierrevert as follows: "This golden village like a boat carried by a wave of rocks."
Listed as a Historic Monument by decree of October 27, 1937, the Saint-Joseph Gate is part of Pierrevert's heritage. It is the only one remaining of the four gates that originally formed part of the town's rampart.
The Saint Pierre church is located in the heart of the village and dates from the middle of the 12th century
The 1631th-century Saint-Patrice Chapel is located on the road towards Sainte-Tulle. It is dedicated to an Irish saint who is said to have protected the village from the plague in XNUMX. Built in the late Romanesque style, it has been restored numerous times and is the site of an annual pilgrimage.
The remains of the Château Sainte-Marguerite or Châteaux des Tributiis consist of a few Renaissance windows integrated into the current farmhouse, on the courtyard side. These windows are made of plasterwork and date from the mid-20th century. The interior decoration is registered as a historical monument by decree of September 2005, XNUMX. The Sainte-Marguerite chapel is located near the road that connects Pierrevert to La Bastide-des-Jourdans in the vineyards and at the edge of a wood, to the right of the Régusse cellar. Equipped with buttresses m
Every year during the summer, the village hosts the Nuits Photographiques festival, which has become nationally renowned. Indeed, the 18-hole golf course, perched in a green setting, offers a radiant view of the Durance Valley and the Pays Manosquin, and numerous trails run through the surrounding hills. Among them, note the 4.5 km "Sentier des Vignerons" inspired by the youngest and the "AOP Coteaux de Pierrevert" appellation. Accessible to all, this loop of nearly 2 hours will allow you to discover the work of the vineyard and the winegrowers, the traditional grape varieties and vintages of the Pierrevert hillside, but also to observe the built heritage along the trail. You can take a break at the Saint-Patrice Chapel, installed among the olive trees and plan a tasting stop at the cellar!
