The castle of Oraison was certainly built after the medieval period

Description

It was notably remodeled by the lords Les Fulque around 1720, who were the purchasers of the Marquisate and who are at the origin of its Renaissance style. It was built of rolled pebbles. Devastated in 1792 by order and raised by one floor to be transformed into a silkworm nursery. It has retained its imposing silhouette with its two towers. Louis Pasteur came to study silkworms there. Ordered by the State, he was sent to the South to find a solution to stop the silkworm disease, called pebrine.
The private and communal castle is not open to the public. It is possible to see the interior of the library during its opening hours, as well as the rooms during exhibitions or events.
