This humpback bridge spans the Verdon at a length of 41 m. Built in the second half of the 17th century, it provided access to the hamlet of Ondres and facilitated the passage of herds going up to the summer pastures.
Description
The stone beaks protect the central pier and the abutments, one of which rests on a rocky massif. Located on the edge of the Verdon on the CD 908, it was once connected to the village by a single path that we still follow going up the Riou Sec valley and then through the fields of the St Antoine district to the eponymous oratory. Pont du Moulin or the old Pont d'Ondres? ...locally we speak of the "Roman Bridge" in reference to its large arch or the Pont de Serpegier from the name of the mountain that dominates it.
