Located between the car park and the museum, the Verdon Gorges Prehistosite presents reconstructions of ancient habitats in an environment evoking Prehistory and reveals to you, in life-size, the evolution of the lifestyles of prehistoric man.
Description
Rudimentary circle, tent, teepee, hut... When you visit the prehistoric village of Quinson, you will be impressed by the diversity of the habitats built by our ancestors: both in terms of spatial organization and use of materials. Because hominids had to adapt to the geography of the places, the weather and the animals that lived on their territory.
Thus, lifestyles were not always the same in prehistoric times. Hunter-gatherers and nomads in the Paleolithic period, our ancestors built very simple, temporary shelters. In the Neolithic period, they became sedentary and agricultural. Their dwellings were more robust than those of their ancestors. Discover the rest when you visit Quinson.
