Located on the pass, it is the ''sanctus johannis de Pinaudeyeno'' chapel reported in the 14th century.
Description
Built by the Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem established on the pass at the beginning of the 1574th century, it was destroyed during the wars of religion in XNUMX.
However, it was used during the 16th century for the burials of deceased people from the neighborhood in its cemetery.
Restored in 1644 by the Hospitallers, it was still in service at the end of the XNUMXth century.
A very simple building, with a barrel vault, it is intriguing because of its chevet, rounded on the outside and flat on the inside, which reduces the surface area of the sanctuary.
The chapel of Saint Jean is an introduction to the fascinating history of the pass and Montclar.
