The Chapel of Saint Pancrace, located on the hillside, overlooks the Durance Valley and is 5 km from the center of Oraison.

Description

The 12th century chapel was built on older foundations.
The choir of the chapel has a flat chevet and a semicircular vault.
On the western side, the chapel has a sort of terrace with balustrades on the upper part. Above the chapel, a bell tower stands out.
It has an interior frieze from the 14th century.
The chapel fell into ruin and was then restored in 1869. In 1924, the roof was restored after the vaults collapsed. The ceiling was made of wood. In 1991, painted decorations from the 17th and 18th centuries were discovered under whitewash. In October 2012, the drawings (floral decorations) were renovated. The chapel and its frescoes were renovated in 2013.
There are two paintings, one of which represents Saint Pancras.
The feast of Saint Pancras (martyred at the age of 14) is May 12.
The last hermit, Brother Auguste Bec, was present until 1900.
Its dominant position allows you to admire magnificent sunsets which illuminate the chapel.
