100 million years told by the Vachères stone through three themes: paleontology, flint knapping, and traces of human occupation engraved in the stone.
Description
Memory of Stone - Memory of Man The remarkable local fossils (plants, insects, birds, mammals) trace the long history of the landscape and the environment. As for the valley's flint, prehistoric people used it for millennia, and even exported it in the Neolithic period. Closer to us, humans have made the most of all the local resources (limestone, clay, etc.). Two rooms present the memory of stones (fossils) and the memory of man (archaeological remains).
