A charming little round lake is hidden in the heights of the Rioclar valley. Protected by peaks approaching 3000 meters, it is the only lake on the sunny side of Barcelonnette worthy of the name.
Description
From the car park, the route goes up the track to the pastoral huts of Les Hières and then continues along a path. After the Croix de Jaumasse, it passes under the Pisse waterfall, climbs back up into the pastures of the upper part of the Rioclar valley and reaches the lower Aupillon lake, which sometimes dries up in summer.
Details concerning animals This hike is accessible with a dog, provided it is kept on a leash throughout. This helps protect wildlife, preserve flora, and ensure the peace and quiet of other hikers.
