30 minutes from Digne les Bains, the Prads Haute-Bléone Via Ferrata offers an AD+ course, with a D variant.
Description
Just 30 minutes from Digne-les-Bains, the Prads-Haute-Bléone Via Ferrata is the most alpine of the Haute-Provence Geopark's via ferrata routes. Thrills guaranteed!
With a start at an altitude of 1000 m and a 300 m drop, this via ferrata will take you to the heights! The route (600 m long and lasting approximately 3 hours) is classified as Fairly Difficult with a Difficult variation (possible escape route halfway); it faces southwest.
Along the way, you will come across some of the oldest thuriferous junipers, shrubs emblematic of the territory and the limestone cliffs, and some animals that have taken up residence in this rocky environment or fly over the area.
At the summit, you'll be rewarded with a magnificent panorama overlooking the Estrop massif and its summit, the highest point in the Haute Provence Geopark. On the way back, you'll cross the forest overlooking the village of Prads.
It is essential to have specific equipment. Professional supervision is recommended.
