Formerly known as Le Lan, this summit, seen from Barcelonnette, has a very particular appearance of a headdress. It is tempting to climb it to appreciate a wide landscape due to its central position in Ubaye.
Description
From the Sauze 1700 ski resort, the route climbs gradually, alternating between wooded passages and grassy slopes, to reach the summit of Chapeau de Gendarme. The return is via a loop that winds through a vast wooded area in multiple bends.
