Difficulty Difficult
The dry southern slope, wooded with deciduous trees and pines, contrasts with the humid northern slope, covered with larches. All the landscape diversity of Ubaye is represented on the circuit, in the land of ibex and at the gateway to the Mercantour National Park.
Description
After crossing the flowery hamlet of Serre, the path climbs quickly to the abandoned village of Cloche and its restored chapel.
At the pass, the landscape becomes more humid and the long descent connecting to the Baume Longe belvedere takes place in a beautiful forest of larches, conifers typical of Ubaye.
The end of the circuit offers some beautiful passages on this side of the Gorges du Bachelard.
Details concerning animals This hike is accessible with a dog, provided it is kept on a leash throughout. This helps protect wildlife, preserve flora, and ensure the peace and quiet of other hikers.
