The Col Bas lakes site is classified as a Sensitive Natural Space, a fragile site rich in biodiversity, do not leave the marked trail (biotope protection order n°86-3106). biotope protection order n°86-3106

Access by chairlift, from the Montclar Station, open on certain days in July/August. Stop at La Brèche to access the Fort, mandatory stop at the top of La Brèche and not at the terminal station of the La Brèche chairlift to access Lac Noir.
