This walk takes you up into the hills, through former cultivated areas, to the abandoned hamlet of Ville, which overlooks the Jabron valley and the village of La Rivière.
Description
From the car park, follow the D452 towards La Foux for 300 m until you reach the village exit. At the intersection of the paved roads, turn left onto Rue du Collet. Pass a shed and take the path leading off to the left. Go around the valley, then climb the hill among the pines and oaks. Higher up, cross the small Ste Anne stream and join a wider path. Go up to the right along this for 500 m and reach a crossroads of tracks.
Follow the Peyroules circular path to the left. Take the track that goes around the Pré Neuf farm and quickly reaches old cultivated areas. Continue on the main path and descend towards the imposing Romanesque chapel and the abandoned hamlet of Ville. Turn left at the crossroads, in front of the chapel, and reach the hamlet 200 m further on.
Go down to the left along the path into the meadow. Pass a pass, follow the path through the valley, cross the Ville ravine, then descend the hillside to the road. Follow it to the left for 500 m to return to the starting point.
