Fishing is open year-round on Lake Sainte Croix. Except for certain species, where fishing is closed to protect them during their spawning season.
Salmon fishing is open from the 2nd weekend of March to the 1st Sunday of October. Except for rainbow trout, which is open all year round.
For pike and zander, fishing is open all year round.
Trolling is open from the 2nd weekend of March to the 1st Sunday of October.
Important: Any fish caught during its specific prohibited period, by any means, must be immediately returned to the water.
As for navigation, only electric boats are permitted on Lake Ste Croix.
Don't forget the catch sizes of the different species:
- Pike: 60 cm
- Pikeperch: 40cm
- Brown Trout: 40 cm and Rainbow Trout: 23 cm
- Arctic char: 18 cm
In addition, catches are limited to 6 per fisherman per day (including 3 brown trout, Arctic char or whitefish) for salmonids and 3 per fisherman per day for predators (including 2 pike).
