We offer outdoor riding camps for children comfortable at all three gaits, from 8 to 12 years old and for 12-16 year olds, 2 stays of 7 days and 6 nights for each age group per summer.
Description
At the "Les chevaux de Roquépine" equestrian farm in Barles.
A week out of time, at the rhythm of the horses and nature, in a small group and a family atmosphere of a mountain equestrian farm.
In the morning, the children are invited to fetch their horse/pony from the paddocks, the mountains, or the area above the farm, and get it ready. Then, we do the activity the children themselves chose the day before (bareback riding or liberty riding, trail riding, TREC, vaulting, classical riding lessons, swimming with the horses, etc.). We offer them 4 to 5 hours with the horses. Afterwards, we have a picnic, either by the water with the horses or at the farm.
In the afternoon we usually go swimming in the river or do indoor or outdoor activities depending on the weather (making bracelets from horsehair, board games, large nature games with an "environment and music" activity leader, etc.)
The children stay in tipis and can participate, if they wish, in all the farm activities: milking the goats and making cheese, taking care of the chickens and, of course, the horses.
