Geological curiosities, rare species and biodiversity, thousands of years of heritage and mysterious legends, this trail will allow you to discover the hidden wonders of the natural site of the Annot sandstone.
Description
Take Avenue de la Gare. A few meters before the station, pass under the railway line and then turn right. The path climbs, winding between the sandstone blocks. After the Roubine rock shelter, the route crosses marl and then becomes steeper. When you reach a fork, head towards the Jardins du Roi. This short loop takes you through the impressive Garambes gorge before rejoining the main route. Turn left towards the King's Chamber.
The trail continues along a ledge on a wide but steep path before reaching the wooded area. After the Plateau Shelter, make the short return trip to the viewpoint. Then cross the Portettes arch and descend into the chestnut grove. At the Espaluns viewpoint, make the short return trip to the left to discover a magnificent rock shelter. The descent is punctuated by several sourcins before joining the paved path that leads to the Vers la Ville chapel.
