Itinerary:
From Riez, follow the D11 and head towards Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon, a typical Provençal village located at an altitude of 513m, overlooking the Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon lake from a rocky spur.

Follow the direction of Baudinard-sur-Verdon and stop at the Sainte-Croix dam, breathtaking view of the lake. Then follow the D111 towards the D211 and reach Montpezat.

Continue the route along the road along the edge of Lake Montpezat towards Saint Laurent-du-Verdon. You can visit the spectacular Baudinard Gorges either by following a red-marked trail on foot from the place called Saint Jaume, or by renting a canoe (rental in Saint Laurent or Montpezat).
A track located 200m upstream from the bridge connecting Montpezat to Baudinard provides access to the river. The narrowness of the gorges is impressive and the spectacle becomes magical upon arriving at Lake Ste-Croix, with the walls covered in moss and ferns.

Then, continue towards Artignosc-sur-Verdon via the D471, then join the D71 towards Montmeyan, a fortified medieval village built at an altitude of 504 metres on a rocky promontory in the middle of the plain.

Then go back down towards the D13 towards Quinson. Set in an amphitheater between the limestone cliffs and the Verdon, the current village was built in the 7th century around a solid defensive rampart comprising XNUMX crenellated towers and two fortified gates.

Continue the circuit and reach Esparron-de-Verdon via the D15. A magnificent view of the lake awaits you as soon as you arrive in the village. Numerous parking lots are available (be careful, they fill up quickly in high season). You can take advantage of your stop to discover this small village, admire its castle, but above all to swim in the clear waters of the Verdon. Electric boats, canoes, windsurfers... await you, at the water's edge to take you to the heart of the lake, to the foot of the dam or in the Basses-Gorges, to the Quinson lake. Then finish your journey to Gréoux-Les-Bains (D315 and D952), the 3rd spa resort in France. This road overlooks the lake of Esparron-de-Verdon and offers many magnificent viewpoints. A stop is possible at a belvedere, just before the dam.
