A trailhead winding through a larch forest, ending at a summit open to all four cardinal points. Panoramic views of the Vaïre and Verdon valleys.
Description
Once the climb begins in the forest, the route is very simple: follow the single path that climbs straight up for about 500 meters of elevation gain, until you reach the Pic de Rent. At the start, cross the forest, before it becomes increasingly sparse, until you arrive at an alpine meadow. Here and there, lavender bushes perfume the route. Once at the Pic de Rent, the summit of Puy de Rent is clearly visible, at about 650 meters, at the end of the beautiful rounded ridge. Cairns mark the route to the summit. You are at the summit of Puy de Rent, at 1996 m above sea level, the highest point in the Castellane Prealps Massif.
