This small family hiking trail goes through the undergrowth on the ridge to go around the Baume, by the west side of the hilltop village of Lurs, former residence of the prince-bishops of Sisteron.
Description
Path of Scripture. Castle (3rd century), bishops' promenade and its 15 oratories.
Variant: The path of olive trees
The path descends into the Lurs woods, follows a forest track to the Roman bridge of Ganagobie (2nd century AD). Possible connection with the GR653D (Road to Santiago de Compostela and Rome) which climbs to the priory of Ganagobie. The path then climbs back towards the village of Lurs through woods and olive groves on the Durance valley side.
