Description
Go back in history by following the trail: a discovery booklet on sale at the tourist office reception will allow you to discover the secrets of this village.
The departure is on a track which goes north, at the end of the RD 123. There will be on your right, at the beginning, a field with sheep and their guardians: patous. These can be vehement, especially if you have a dog. Don't panic, they are locked in and cannot get through. However, keep your dog away from the electric fence.
When you arrive at the top of the hill, you will have on your right the remains of Châteauneuf-lès-Moustiers and on your left a track which goes below. After visiting the village, you can, if you wish, extend the walk by taking this track which is an old Roman road. After a short kilometer of walking, you will discover on your left, in a cavity in the cliff, a chapel. After a short ascent, quite steep and dizzying, you will arrive at the rock chapel of Notre-Dame de la Baume.
Details concerning animals : Please note, you are in a pastoral area, there may be protection dogs (patous): keep your dogs on a lead.
