This circuit is the emblematic route of the Jabron Valley - Montagne de Lure Trail spot! The route is often snowy from November to May.

Description

Starting from Valbelle, this magnificent hiking trail will gradually take you to the summit of the Lure mountain at an altitude of 1826 m after covering 12 km of ridge. Be careful when the path runs along the edge of the cliff!

Stop at Cairn 2000 (a must-see for hikers and trail runners around the world) to admire the panorama.

This trail hike is not recommended for trail runners lacking physical fitness because the climb is steep (18 km with an elevation gain of 1500 m). Bring a good supply of water and a windbreaker because it is often "blowy" on the ridge. Poles may be useful in difficult passages. Be careful!!! The descent from Pas de Sumiou to Valbelle is dangerous because it is slippery (rolling stones).

Water supply: Graille spring, Jas des Bailles, Valbelle

NB: There are escape routes via the Pas de Jean Richaud, the Pas de la Croix and the Pas de la Graille. They will take you back to Valbelle by joining the D53 road.

Through our practice, it is essential to respect the work of farmers, other operators and owners who welcome us onto their land:

To prevent herds from escaping, close all electric fences securely and do not damage them!

Also, do not disturb the herds, greet people you meet with a friendly "hello", and of course bring back all your rubbish! Do not cut across the routes through the meadows, and do not picnic either!
