The Sommet de Lure is one of the most interesting and unusual sites in the department.
In addition to its astonishing biodiversity, the Sommet de Lure is also a privileged site for all hiking enthusiasts.

Description

The presence of several more or less rare plant species (such as Bertoloni's columbine or the white thorn eryngium) and an animal species which is in danger of extinction at European and national level (Orsini's viper) contribute to making this ENS a natural territory of great fragility which should be protected.
The Lure Summit is also a privileged site for all hiking enthusiasts and is accessible by a marked path which climbs gently in an undergrowth located in the shade of fir and beech trees.
These trails are included in the Alpes de Haute-Provence Departmental Hiking Plan. The Lure ridges also offer an incomparable panorama of Provence and the Digne-les-Bains Prealps.
The developments carried out in 2014 by the Departmental Council (four parking areas) along the road allow better access to the site while contributing to its preservation by installing information panels.
To discover the site
The Lure Ridge Trail starts at the Lure resort and is a fairly easy 7km loop, despite some steep sections. In addition to their rich biodiversity, the ridges offer a remarkable panorama of the surrounding mountains and the lower Alpine landscape.
