The Lac des Sagnes wetland, straddling the communes of Thorame-Basse and Thorame-Haute, is located at the end of an artificial reservoir created in the 1960s for irrigation.

Description

This highly diverse site consists of wet meadows, low marshes, and a vast reed bed in the valley floor. Numerous hillside springs feed this wetland, which gives rise to the Riou Tort river, on which the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Natural Areas Conservatory has been working for several years to encourage a project to restore its hydrological functioning.
