Description

This organic beekeeper has set up his hives on the heights of Digne-les-Bains. From Courbons, in the foothills of the Siron, he produces mountain, lavender, and spring honey.

The association of bees and lavender is a characteristic of Haute-Provence: the action of bees increases the yield of essence and ensures the pollination of lavender. Lavender honey, very fragrant and with a delicate flavor, as well as "all flower" honey benefit from this significant presence of aromatic plants: lavender and lavandin of course, but also thyme, rosemary, savory, hyssop... which are very valuable honey plants, with a staggered flowering over time.
Richard Bonnet is a geopartner of the Haute-Provence Geopark; he will be happy to share his passion for bees and his region with you.
