Barcelonnette is the most Mexican of French cities.
For 3 days, the city is adorned with the colors of Mexico, celebrating the Day of the Dead through unusual and original activities, directly linked to Mexican tradition.

Description

The Day of the Dead echoes the famous Dia de los Muertos, a tradition of pre-Hispanic origin that takes place in Mexico and celebrates the temporary return of the deceased to Earth. Meals, dancing, and mariachi music punctuate this event, which has been included on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2008.
