Dance, theatre, music… For its 71st edition, the Festival des Nuits de la Citadelle returns with an even richer and more eclectic program, featuring renowned artists.

Description

The Citadel, a symbol of Sisteron, lent its name to one of the oldest festivals in France, the first in the region along with the one in Orange. In 1928, an open-air theater (seating 1500) was built on the north face of the fortress, and a festival was born that would later become "Les Nuits de la Citadelle" (The Nights of the Citadel). Interrupted by the war and the bombing of the town in August 1944, the festival was revived in 1956. Since then, it has welcomed the biggest names in music, dance, and theater. The beauty of the setting, the quality of the performers, and an ever-expanding program guarantee its renown and remarkable longevity.
