Come and discover a brand new cultural venue recently opened in Seyne: the Micro-folie!
A Seyne, la Micro-folie est ouverte au grand public et gratuitement tous les mercredis de 9h à 12h et de 14h à 17h et le 1er samedi du mois.
On Thursdays, the venue is dedicated to school groups in order to offer educational mediation around art and culture to younger children.
Come and discover a selection of works from the greatest French museums, explained by Fanny, the Micro-Folie's mediator. For an even more immersive experience, you can try out virtual reality headsets or have fun with cultural and educational games from the games library.
Soon, an exhibition on "The Voice of the Elders" will be presented in the micro-folie room, highlighting the diverse lives of our oldest inhabitants in Seyne, and bearing witness to their past and the evolution of the village over the last century.
This Micro-folie, located on the 3rd floor of the Maison de Pays on the Place d'Armes in Seyne, is an innovative cultural space that allows everyone to access culture and works from major museums. Using digital tools and interactive displays, it provides access to collections from leading institutions without the need to travel to large cities.
Finally, a "Fablab" workshop will take place every other Wednesday evening, starting January 28th, from 17:30 pm to 19:30 pm. Led by curious and motivated volunteers eager to share knowledge and skills, this fabrication laboratory allows participants to create and experiment while learning to use digital machines such as a 3D printer, a digital embroidery machine, a cutting machine, and other digital equipment. In partnership with the Micro-Folie, these Fablab workshops foster dialogue between artistic, technological, and experimental creation, and are part of a process of sharing know-how and mutual support, promoting autonomy, creativity, and local innovation.
In short, this Micro-Folie is a true community hub, fostering discovery, curiosity, and cultural exchange at the heart of local communities. This initiative, launched by the city council, is coordinated by La Villette, a major cultural institution in Paris, in partnership with more than a dozen leading national and international cultural organizations, and supported by the French Ministry of Culture. The project has received funding from the French government and the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department.
