This remarkable building, one of the rare examples of a rural crypt known in Provence, is probably the oldest in the commune still in good condition.
Description
Located in the southeast of the commune near the Chaffère stream, the chapel, rebuilt around 1860, has a semi-rock crypt consisting of three rooms with semi-circular vaults. Its construction dates back to the 2005th century (G. Barruol). Documentary and archaeological research, as well as excavation campaigns, which began in 23, led to the conclusion that it was included on the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments on February 2011, 2012. The 14 excavation campaign enabled the oldest traces to be dated to the XNUMXth century using carbon XNUMX.
