Since the end of the 16th century, the local nobility and the bourgeoisie have administered the city.
These families left behind the most beautiful private mansions still clearly visible today.
Description
The GAUBERT House or New Portal House
At the new portal, we find, dating from 1587, a Mr. Sérice Nicollin who runs an inn: (butcher's shop, that is to say, catering) and hostelry, clearly the business was doing very well, enough to explain the ornamentation of the ceiling of the entrance.
The house was sold several times, the last family to own it before Alain Jean was the Eyriès family.
Today it is better known as the Dolls' House and you can still admire the plasterwork on the ceiling.
