Nestled on the folds of a gorge, which is called "Detroit" here, and with its splendid rocky backdrop, the medieval village of Entrepierres well deserves its name.
Description
It was built in the 17th century on either side of an old steep mule track that comes from Sisteron. The inhabitants erected the parish church of light stones in its heart.
Entrepierres was rehabilitated at the end of the 20th century by newcomers, then the habitat dispersed in the plain, whose soil is more fertile. A few sections of masonry walls still remain, … This eagle's nest is today inhabited by birds of prey.
A cluse or clue is a form of Jura relief. It is a valley dug perpendicularly into a mountain by a river, creating a gorge or defile framed by cliffs.
