The Aires washhouse is one of the standing washhouses where women used a rubber-like apron to keep their skirts from getting wet.

Description

This additional water point was created at the end of the 19th century from a channel of the Manosque Canal. The latter was built between 1895 and 1900. This canal from Château to Corbières brought about a change in the crops and a certain wealth for the villages. Note that the canal passes on the west side of the village and crosses the Lauzon via a siphon: an exceptional work of art clearly visible in the Pierrotard forest.
