The exhibition explores the links between population flows, Latin American imaginaries, and collective memory. Encompassing sculpture, drawing, painting, photography, and video, it presents a veritable galaxy of contemporary works.

Description

The CCVUSP, in partnership with the Frac Sud – Cité de l'art contemporain and the Department of Alpes de Haute Provence, are pleased to present the exhibition “Bouquet d’étoiles”.

A unique exhibition that draws on the valley's singular history. In the 19th century, many inhabitants of the Ubaye Valley who left to seek their fortune in Mexico brought back to their villages an imagination, traditions, and aesthetics from Latin America. This migratory memory, still visible in the local architecture and folklore, now serves as the guiding thread for a new artistic adventure.

This exhibition brings works from the Frac's collections into dialogue with creations by local artists. Drawing on Latin American imagery, it explores the spiritual connections between celestial bodies, nature, and the living world. Vibrant colors, celestial forms, and dreamlike motifs resonate with the Alpine landscapes in spring, creating a bridge between the Alps and Latin America.

Between historical heritage, intercultural dialogues and cosmic imagination, "Bouquet of Stars" offers an artistic journey accessible to all.
