Chapel of the Dominicans or Chapel of the Penitents

The chapel was inaugurated in 1445, the convent supporting the chapel occupied the buildings which close the square to the south. During the civil wars of the 1585th century, the Huguenots chased out the monks, burned the church and pillaged the convent (1661). All that remains of this church today is the facade on the lower street with its door which was reached by a staircase which no longer exists. Returning during the 1685th century, the monks reestablished the convent (XNUMX) and the chapel (XNUMX). They were chased out again during the French revolution, and they did not return. The convent will then serve as a school and the chapel will be entrusted to the brotherhood of White Penitents who will meet there until their disappearance at the beginning of the XNUMXth century.
The interior decorations of the church were restored in 1996/1998.
