This chapel far from the village, in the open field, dates from the end of the 10th century, beginning of the 11th century.

Description

In 1683, the bishop went to the parish of Haut Vernet which is far from the village and whose church is under the title of St Pancrace. There is an altar and a painting representing the Virgin Mary, Saint Pancras and Saint Martin.

Unfortunately, it was ruined during the civil wars. The inhabitants had requested that the parish service be transferred to another chapel that they themselves had built at their own expense against the village: the Chapel of St. Martin. It was this chapel that would eventually become the parish church of Haut-Vernet.

However, St Pancras Chapel is still used for the procession on the saint's feast day. Even ruined, the chapel survived through the years and was finally restored in 1985.

This small, bucolic chapel is discovered at the bend in a field, alone, surrounded by nature. An invitation to a spiritual break in the heart of nature. A way to recharge and disconnect.
